The Script

The script for this musical is unique … the live action all takes place on a split stage.

One smaller portion of the stage is occupied by the office space of Ralph Peer, and the remainder of the stage is used for all the other live action as described by Mr.Peer throughout the script.

It tells the story of the last 13 years of Jimmie’s life, interlaced with 23 of his most memorable songs.

The story is equally warm, entertaining and heartbreaking, but most important of all, it’s memorable.

Staging can easily take place within small, medium and large venues.

About WFAT

This musical is the result of years of reasearch into the life and times of Jimmie Rodgers, the man known worldwide as the Father of Country Music, and as underscored by the Country Music Hall of Fame, Jimmie clearly was, ... "the one who started it all.

The story and songs cover the last thirteen years of Jimmie's life from when he first became engaged to Carrie Williamson, to those sorrowful last days of his life in New York City, ending up with one last train ride back home to Meridian, Mississippi.
